This article introduces the Timeline Catalog in DIVA Back Office.
The following topics are covered here:
What is the timeline catalog?
DIVA’s Timeline Catalog is a list of all data timeline events available in the Back Office (saved from the data feed). When a data provider sends the data feed of an event, a timeline is created in the DIVA Back Office Timeline Catalog, which is then linked to a video.
Assigning multiple videos to one data feed
In some instances, the video production may produce multiple videos of the same event, e.g., the Basketball final for the gold medal at the Olympics. This one video stream is split into four parts, each representing an event quarter, each starting and ending at different times. DIVA Back Office supports the ability to link the four videos to the one data feed, allowing operators to specify when the videos should read the data feed. For example, the first video will start reading the data feed at 00.00, ending at 15.00 minutes, with the second video reading the data feed at 16.00, ending at 30.00 minutes. The steps below detail how to create a new timeline and then assign the new timeline to a video:
Step 1: create a new timeline
- Navigate to the Timeline Catalog from the side menu.
- Select the plus icon to create a new timeline.
3. Enter information into the relevant fields.
Note: The multilateral code field relates to the specific project.
4. On save, data ingestion begins.
Step 2: assign a timeline to a video
In this scenario, the back end service ingests live data on a video. We want to assign this collection of data to the video in question.
- Navigate to the video catalog from the side menu.
- Select a video asset and enter edit mode to assign the asset to the timeline.
3. Scroll down to the Timeline panel and select CHOOSE to specify the multilateral code.
4. Select the required timeline, followed by CONFIRM to save. On save the video syncs with the data, which can then be displayed on the front end.
Archive timeline events
It's possible to archive timeline events when creating/editing the timeline.
