This article explains how to add video assets to the DIVA Back Office Video Catalog. For a general overview, read our Video Catalog introduction article.
The following topics are covered here:
What are video assets?
Video assets, found within the Video Catalog, are entities that contain all required information like metadata, replicas, and the video source.
Add video assets
Adding video assets is a manual procedure when the video production is not managed by DIVA Back Office or Deltatre.
Add live videos
Live videos are typically added to DIVA Back Office via APIs, the Video Scheduler, or by manually adding a live video asset. The manual process is detailed below:
- Within the the Video Catalog, select the add button.
2. Select the add live video button.
3. Specify the mandatory video title, status any other relevant information. The unique ID is auto-generated.
4. Toggle on/off auto-publish on CMS. When saving a video asset, selecting the auto-publish toggle automatically publishes the video asset to the integrated CMS if this workflow has been configured.
5. Select the icon. On save, the newly added live video asset displays in the video catalog.
Add VOD video

Manage video metadata
Typically, video metadata is ingested into DIVA Back Office via APIs. Certain video metadata is generated after playback ends, including attributes such as the ID of the physical streaming file, the video duration, and the ScheduledAt key. Other data comes from the data provider and data workflow.
Metadata management is based on the DIVA Back Office template file. Fields defined in the template populate the DIVA Back Office environment (project-specific) and information populated into these fields is passed onto the video entity.
