This article introduces chapters within DIVA.
What are chapters?
Chapters split the video stream into multiple shorter sessions, meaning viewers can consume one chapter at a time. The timeline is stretched, spreading out event key moments, and the commentary is only relevant to the selected chapter instead of the entire event. Viewers can easily navigate between chapters using chapter lists. Chapters work differently depending on whether the content is live or video-on-demand (VOD). Chapters display as they become available when viewing live content. When catching up on content later, via VOD, every chapter is available from the start and is accessible at any time.
We're aware some events can last a long time, for example, an 8-hour cricket match. When consuming a lengthy video stream, additional navigation displays at the bottom of the timeline if the chapter functionality is enabled.
